As of many, many weeks at Cornerstone, we have yet to see much of physical therapy. Promises of this and that but fail to show much of the time and when they do, well, there's not much therapy. Extremely limited equipment from what I can tell. "Gym" is really a farce. Staff friendly but ofen work short handed. Nurses working too many hours a week. Nursing staff consistently unable to get accurate results from automated vital signs machine and clueless as to how to take vital signs without machines. Several wrong medications offered and nursing staff reacted badly to being asked to recheck orders when they did make errors. Consistently did not listen to concerns about inappropriate medications and treatments. Medical staff only slightly better. Discharge referrals inappropriate. Food by Luby's and diet not coordinated with treatment. Poor medicine and unpleasant staff.
My good friend was just sent home from Cornerstone. We were vey happy with the care he recieved there. The staff was busy, but always made time for us. The DON and Administrator visited with him to make sure everything was going ok. If i ever needed to be in a hospital for a long time, I would go there. Tim
