More family like than many facilities Although the facilities are a little older and not as fancy as some of the newer retirement homes out there, I found Cornell Estates to be more warm and family-like than the other retirement homes I visited. Not for Assisted Living We checked this place out thoroughly and decided against it for assisted living. In the three times we visited the assisted living side of the facility, it took us over 1/2 hour to find ANY staff person. The front desk person kept telling us to go to different floors to find someone and we ran around frustrated. They must be very short staffed!
