The worst tax preparation service I have ever experienced. Took over 3 months to prepare my taxes, no communication, difficult to get calls returned and one of the first responses after numerous calls was "your tax package was overlooked". I was a client of the firm this company acquired, and the difference in service has been extremely disappointing. There was virtually no communication regarding the status of my personal tax return. The only updates I received came after I reached out myself, and the only information provided was that an extension had been filed—with no explanation as to why, no timeline for completion, and no proactive follow-up. Anything lower than 1 star? Cause I’d be happy to give a negative number. They took over the company when my local accountant retired. I turned in our paperwork as normal in late February and was told because it contained a certain type of form (nothing fancy, I assure you), it was going to be sent out and not processed in the local office. Horrid service. Filing status married file separate, wife paid the bill. Sent me an invoice anyway in an overbilling attempt. Never informed me when the quoted tax owed changed do to repayment of Premium tax credits. (wife understated earnings, no big deal on having to repay, but not being informed of the change isn't good). Filed form 9465 after having the conversation with Venning. The prior accounting firm merged with Venning two years ago. Hoped for good things but the quality of work is definitely lacking. The company overcharges, and is completely unorganized. After turning my taxes in on time according to the organizer that I would have my taxes prepared before the due date.
