Completely ineffective; filled with empty promises. Will not follow through on the things they say. Way more interested in simply having you hospitalized. I can wholly say I am worse off having inquired for help with COPES.
i want to preface this with a reminder that we should take every avenue we can to get mental health support, but we should also be very discerning and have realistic expectations of said help, or it could have an opposite effect in crisis. These people literally were my rock and saved my life during one of the hardest experiences of my life. They were extremely patient and really cared about my well being. They were able to direct me to resources that I wasn't able to think of. I really am very very thankful they were there to guide me when my brain was fogging out. And even at my high emotional moments, they patiently let me talk to out and got me steered back to what I needed to do. If a negative star was available, I would rate COPES. When I called them to talk to a Loved one who was talking suicide they asked me which insurance he has. When United Health Dual Complete they said his insurance wouldn't cover the cost and declined to go visit him. I had to call 911 just to get COPES to even call my brother who's wheelchair bound due to strokes. Then they only talked to him by phone only. I don't know how these folks can look themselves in the mirror with policies that block the people who they claim to b... read more
