Just had a Wole Soyinka "Telephone Conversation" moment at the Cooper Building today. After visiting The New Mart to look at showroom spaces, I walked across to see what was available at the Cooper Building. The attendant in the lobby called and verified availability with the leasing office upstairs, and I was told to head up to the 9th floor. Sadly mismanaged and in decline and fading away. Recent changes and outsourcing of management have lost the old identity and buzz this building used to have. Now just a faceless building with confused, absent and checked out folk running the show. Tenants and showrooms seem motivated to relocate to somewhere with a little focus on Fashion as this is no longer the place to be.
