Continental Is horrible – This place is a dump to begin with . I ve been there about 5 times with my buddies from work. I never really liked this place. The bouncers have a god complex. I had one incident when this Idiot of a bouncer decided to pull me off the line telling me that "they are only accepting regulars" i was nicely dressed too. only if you're desperate – I would like to inform you that I was treated with so much disrespect at your venue. I walked out of the bar to see my friends who were an interracial couple, yet the bouncer refused them entry for no other reason than "they're not the usual crowd." Worst bar I've ever been. – The bartender and the security guy at door are completely rude. They work like they're doing you a favor. If you don't want to be treated as cr&p stay away from this place.
ASSAULT & BATTERY...I saw the whole thing happen – In response to the review below...I was standing outside of McDonalds last night and saw this whole thing happen. The bouncer was at least 400 pounds and way over 6' tall. The bouncer had walked well past the bar to follow her and that's when I saw him push her down the street. Worst Bar in NYC – This place is ridiculous! There was NOT just one bouncer at this bar on New Years 2009, but two. The first guy let eveybody with me (including me) into the bar. Where the bouncers physically assult you – I'm in a group of 8, and we had just finished a round of shots. A good song comes on the jukebox, and I feel like dancing, so I get up to see if anybody would join me. Apparently another girl from the table across the way (from a group of 6 or so) had the same idea, so she and I end up dancing with each other. Drink prices can't be beat!! – I went to Continental for the first time last night with a friend, and I have to say that I was in disbelief that a place could exist in this city with $3 drinks. Since I usually tend to frequent trendyish places with high cover and even higher drink prices, I was thrilled to find a cool, laid-back place that didn't try to eat my wallet before I left. I love this bar! – Continental has changed a lot in the past few months. They don't have live music anymore but they have really cheap drinks and it is so worth checking out, especially for pre-gaming or meeting up with friends before hitting up the clubs in the LES or Midtown. They have happy hour all night, all drinks (including top-shelf) are $3.50 and shots are 5 for $10!
