I was excited to finally find a new psychiatrist that took my insurance. Instead they booked me with a nurse practitioner, and then, after I filled out all the paperwork and signed up for the online portal far in advance, they waited until an hour before the appointment to contact me for my copay (while I was driving to work) and cancel the appointment for non-payment. Their booking system is janky as hell. Why is it so hard to get mental health care in this country?
No problems with my Dr, but the way they run the back office is atrocious. The billing staff and the scheduling staff are soooo incompetent. If you call to make a payment they put you on hold for 10min after they already have your account pulled up so they can tell you your balance eventhough you didn’t ask for the balance and it shouldn’t take 10 min to see my balance on an account you already have pulled up. Conscientia is a scam. They were billing our insurance and also having us self pay. They were being paid twice per session and have not returned our money. It is February and the double charges were from July. Multiple calls and many failed promises to call back have resulted in nothing. They are thieves and liars.
Being a patient the last 3 months has been really frustrating. Their portal system sucks and has resulted in 3 missed appointments for me. You can't speak to your doctor directly so by the time 8 games of telephone go back and forth you have to wait weeks to be seen again. The front staff clearly don't work together at a desk as I have to explain my situation 3 or 4 times every time i call back then wait on hold for literally 5-10 minutes EACH TIME of elevator music while the receptionist puts you on hold to try and call you... read more
