Great customer service from a representative Lena M*****. Connexus has great people and services that they offer to their customers.

Connexus Energy treats people terribly. They do not work with low income people and have the lowest ratings among MN Energy providers. They have no low income affordability programs like most other electricity providers. When I asked for Cold Weather protection, they told me that I had to "make a payment today to get the application sent out". When I called them out as violating the Cold Weather Rules, they changed their tune immediately. Currently, I have a $170 bill, one month behind. They will shut off tomorrow for a late... read more

Connexus Energy is a non-profit cooperative and doesn’t have additional funds to provide low income affordability programs as it would increase rates and your monthly electric bill to do so. Other utilities that are a investor owned cooperation have the ability to use profits and offer different programs. I have been battling a number of issues over the last few years including not getting paid by companies I have performed work for and fraudulent bank activity, but the big one has been fighting cancer. I beat cancer after hardcore chemo but now I am dealing with recovering not only from the treatment (which can take 1-3 years) but the disability payments I was not receiving. Absolutely horrible. An over payment was made on my account. I called them and told them. “ We will begin the process, normally takes 10 business days. There will be a 10 dollar fee as well.” I can not go get formula, diapers, or even pay the copay for my child’s doctors appointment yesterday. They have no compassion at all. No help with getting my money back sooner(that wasn’t even suppose to go to them) no understanding that I need my money back all of it I might add to support my child.

The start of service through this company is absolutely horrific. The worst part is that you can’t use another electric company. They are the only company available. The worst customer service; the customer is definitely not put first in any situation. They do not take responsibility for any actions as well.

If I could give this horrible company 0 or negative stars I would. I am so fed up with the lies and BS coming from them. I had an issue with them where I set up 2 different payments to come out of my bank account. I paid the larger amount first to realize my bill was ready again so I figured id pay that one also. They BOTH credited to my account and came out of my bank account... TWICE!!!! Then all of a sudden It bounced back and I was NEVER notified. This company has been so incredibly difficult to work with. They were rude to me and my husband each time we called in. They kept us on hold for 1 hour and 35 minutes. They have lied to us on numerous occasions. They stated that they have caught me in lies on several occasions, which isn't true. They wanted to know private marital information. I would not give them one star ever, They violated the cold weather rule. Connexus Energy shut my electric off without notice, I had a payment arrangement through them I had paid my payment early on December 30th my payment wasn't due until November 6th and it was off by $13. They did not further to contact me or to let me know that I was off by $13 and then I should pay that as soon as possible. Instead they disconnected my utilities and left a note on my door saying notice of disconnection 11:15 for the amount of $375. Whi... read more
