Dr C did a great job of explaining my condition, the options for treatment and possible problems from the surgery. He got me on the surgery schedule quickly. He saw me each day in the hospital, including late in the day after my surgery. Good follow up by other staff at Tristate Orthopedics. The procedure was successful, even beyond what I had hoped.
My 9 yr old son broke both wrists, the left required surgery and pins. Dr. Conaughty was great and my son was really glad he was his doctor.
No problem with Dr. Conaughty other than he needs to pay attention to what his staff is telling patients. Surgical scheduling staff totally ignored numerous messages about my surgery. I find out on day of surgery, it had been cancelled!!! My problem is I jeopardized my health by stopping meds for a week before scheduled surgery and then its cancelled at last minute. Seems like the patient is at the bottom of the food chain, although we pay their bills and salaries!
Dr. Conaughty became my doctor when I broke my neck and was taken to Sky Lakes hospital. He took care to explain everything to us. After reading my MRI, he explained my surgery needed to occur in a hospital where a neurologist was available. Nearly two days later an ICU bed/neurologist was found. When I was Air Lifted to OHSU, Dr. Conaughty was there, explained everything, wished us well and said he'd check in with us on our return. Caring, thorough and attentive to patient needs. Great doctor.
If you need back or disk surgery, FIND THIS GUY. 1 month after my surgery and I consider myself a walking miracle compared to what I have read of the residuals of my condition. Dr. Conaughty is a highly intelligent and capable surgeon and I have recommended him to everyone I have seen that asked. His doctors explained things completely to me in their language and I understand everything well. The lack of back pain now compared to before my surgery, I wish I could give him 100 stars!
