I have been a Compassion Sponsor and advocate for over 27 years. I have sponsored many children over that time and currently sponsor a child in Haiti and a child in the Philippines. Compassion is a wonderful program and the children are well taken care of. It is such a blessing to be able to be involved in helping children to grow physically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. If you are able, sponsor a child. It is one of the most rewarding things you can do.

When we were at a Casting Crowns concert last October, my granddaughter Mya, was listening to them talk about Compassion and sponsoring a child. They also talked about that you could choose a child and if you wanted with a particular birthday of someone close to you. Mya (my granddaughter) got so excited she couldn't wait to go pick a child with her birthday. She chose a little boy with her same birthdate named Elias. She writes to him and sends him pictures. I hope that some day they can meet each other.
