Compassion International does a fantastic job of caring for children.
I'm leery of this organization. I believe the money goes to help children, but I don't believe it goes to your sponsored child. I believe that is just a marketing tool (although an effective one). First, our church was sponsoring a particular village so 90% of the kids get a sponsor and the other 10% are just out of luck? "Sorry, Maria, nobody picked you so you don't get anything." I worked at Compassion for 5 years and I love this organization and believe in what they do. I also sponsor a child and know that they are an organization that can be full trusted. They are not perfect because no one is but they work tirelessly to get back on track if they ever see an indiscretion that would effect the integrity of what they do and who they serve-JESUS!
I gave my child Josephia and her family $100.00 last year for Christmas and so far no one has ever been able to tell me they got it or try to help. I call and they say they will send me proof, but they never do. If I cannot get absolute proof of this, I am going on my page and telling people as often as I can that you do not allocate funds sent for your child or families. I love what this company is doing to help end poverty. I am a new sponsor and wished I had done this years ago. Everyone on staff that I have talked to when I call are always friendly and helpful.
