My 94 year old grandmother was sent there from Wellnow due to suspected pneumonia, uti, and low oxygen . We sat in the waiting room for 7 hours and were never seen . My grandmother decided that she’d rather die at home than in a cold unwelcoming atmosphere. Her words. And we left . Nobody checked on her , nobody offered a blanket or any kind of update or anything . It’s really sad what healthcare has become .
Worst hospital I've ever been too, have to share bathrooms in the er. Meaning you are told you go into another patients private room to go to the bathroom. Nurses are terrible to the elderly, there's no standard of care for someone that can't speak up here. I was here for an asthma attack and I had a side table slammed into my ribs and my oxygen tubing ran over twice. What did I get moved to another room with a broken bed.. no accident report nothing. My grandson was delivered at Upstate Community Hospital yesterday. The staff and accommodations have been outstanding! Nurses Ivy and Sarah are very knowledgeable and so personable. Thank you, thank you. From the ER staff to the nutrition staff and housekeeping, we cannot say enough good things. Everyone has been wonderful. Special thank you to the ER, delivery nurses and NP Hillary. You are wonderful. God has definitely been blessing us with each of you.
★☆☆☆☆ UPSTATE COMMUNITY ER – Gave Full Symptom List, Still Dismissed as “Diabetes” After 7 hrs at University campus with zero tests, drove here myself. Handed triage the exact printed symptom list (pulsatile tinnitus, SvO₂ 52 %, ENT vascular Nov 8, burning thighs, gurgle heart, pink arm/toes, etc.). They did: - Eye ultrasound - Non-contrast head CT (I’m allergic to contrast) Discharge papers say **“blurred vision and numbness”** – erased every symptom I gave them. Orthopedic floor nurses are exceptionally compassionate and attentive. I cannot say enough about the outstanding care my elderly mother received here up until her death. Every nurse was incredibly kind, sensitive, and helpful. I have never experienced such exceptional nursing care anywhere !
