I was in ER in November of 2024. I received no statements, and no texts. I called billing twice for paper copies mailed. Nothing has arrived in the mail after 3 weeks. How can I get my bil?
Like many here, I first learned of CEP and a balance owed when I received a collection notice around six months after an ER visit. I contacted CEP and they said they had sent a text message in addition to two paper invoices in the mail. Sure enough, they did text me and I inadvertently overlooked it. What medical business sends a TEXT that links you to a bill pay site with no explanation a year after your emergency room visit? Having already paid INOVA over $3k from an April 2024 emergency, what a nasty surprise to be told you then owe $800 more. Wish I'd told the incredibly rude and impatient front desk woman that checked me in that I had no insurance at all.
Seems to be a fraudulent enterprise that governments and other law enforcement agencies are turning a blind eye to. They have a tendency to send close to duplicate bills for services people are actually receiving at INOVA and forcing patients and INOVA and others' billing departments to dispute and clarify who was treated, how, and by whom. They don’t send bills they send you straight to collections. They have time to respond to Google reviews but they don’t have time to send bills. Classic health provider in the US these days. Stay away if possible.
