You know this was one of my favorite hotels to stay at, but having the fire alarms planned to be tested in the morning before checkout from 9am-11am and not knowing about it till we arrived, (no discounts or offers to cancel) really negatively affected our experience. I could deal with the extremely loud alarms but my children were crying scared, and one got a bloody nose. So I wish we had some warning or an option to cancel because it was not a relaxing stay.
I reserved this hotel for my cousins for their wedding night. When I booked the room, it showed the check-in time was 4 PM. To make sure everything would go smoothly, I called the hotel directly and spoke with someone named Nigeria. I explained that my guests were newlyweds and that we would be arriving between 1–3 AM for check-in. I was there on their wedding night, and what I witnessed was truly sad and completely inappropriate. The bride and groom arrived after their wedding, tired and happy, expecting a smooth check-in as previously confirmed by the hotel. Instead, they were treated rudely and told to wait for hours in the middle of the night. No couple should be spoken to that way, especially on their wedding night. It was very disappointing to see such a lack of respect and professionalism on such an important and emotional occasion.
My family had reserved the room in advance and even called the hotel beforehand to explain that we would be arriving between 1–3 AM after our wedding celebration. They were assured there would be no problem with the late check-in. Hotel definitely needs a rehab as it is showing it's age. Everything was clean though and staff were friendly.
