The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center building, designed by architect John Gaw Meem, opened its doors for business on April 20, 1936.
Did you know? At the grand opening in 1936, Martha Graham danced on the FAC stage, Alexander Calder created the sets for an operetta in the theater, and Frank Lloyd Wright lectured on the building.

The Fine Arts Center has one of the largest Latin American and American Indian art in the country and features art by Georgia O'Keeffe, Richard Diebenkorn, Ansel Adams and John Singer Sargent.
The Tactile Gallery is free and fun for kids. Besides, how often are you encouraged to touch the art in a museum?
The current "NASA | ART" exhibition is terrific. After you go through all the galleries in the FAC's special exhibits and permanent collections, have the blueberry bleu cheese burger at Cafe 36! Yum.
