I stayed with this place for almost 6 years and did not feel like my concerns were heard. I stayed on antidepressants for years with no results, and i wanted to try Abilify to add on to my medication and i was told no because i am not bipolar. Please report them to the California medical board instead of just leaving bad reviews! This is a bunch of PA's who do zoom calls out of their dining rooms. They can't and won't help you and will get defensive if you ask any questions. I went there for 5 years, they make you have a zoom call (charge for an office visist) every single month. So you the mental health patient will have to stay on top of them to keep your meds coming on time. All they can do is write prescriptions. They have a policy where they refuse to assist with disability (SSDI). Psychiatry is limited to monthly and seems only for medication. Therapy is limited to mon-thur on the same day every week and during normal business hours. Make certain to ask about policies that may impact you. If I hadn't asked specifically, it would have wasted so much time for everyone. They do not offer any in-person options. Only virtual/remote services. If you decide to go here, despite all the poor ratings, opt out of care with Dr. Akande. She seems like she’s listening to you, but doesn’t display any empathy or human connection. These qualities are important for a doctor of any specialty (especially psychiatry and psychology). I think doctors forget how much courage and trust it takes for someone to come forward about wanting proper diagnosis and treatment. I was a patient here seeking medicine to treat anxiety specifically. Years later, insurance won’t cover me due to a misdiagnosis for something completely unrelated and unverified in my file and for which I never sought treatment. After trying to get the record corrected or an additional meeting to get clarification on my notes, I was met with uncooperative refusal on their end. And refusal to get an additional appointment.
