I am a clinical psychology PhD student now working as a clinician at the University of Pittsburgh clinic and I found this practice to be slightly predatory for several reasons: 1. Most healthcare spaces provide an email or text reminder the day of or before an appointment. This place didn’t provide anything like that. Although of course the onus is on the patient / client to remember their appointment of course, it is standard practice to provide a reminder. 2. If you believe him when he says that his counseling services can help many with debilitating pain then ask him why are there so many suicides from unmanaged pain ? Let’s wait till severe pain confronts him. Let him utilize therapy or meditational counseling He will sing a different tune when the shoe is on the other foot!
