I bought the plantain espresso with a salmon patty. Both were delicious 😋. I will definitely go back.
Update review 9/2026 for 8/2026 purchase. Still 5 stars!! Coffee Was Black continues to be my favorite coffee shop in the Atlanta area. I absolutely love all the success they are having, and it is really great to see young, creative entrepreneurs succeed who truly care about the community. Service was amazing!! Food was kind of pricey. I got a beef patty with the chicken flavor. It was pretty dry and salty, and for $8.64, I was really hoping for better, but the service was amazing!!
Absolutely excellent and hidden gem coffee shop. I live in Buckhead but was in the area. As many have already mentioned, plantain latte is tea chefs kiss. I normally don't get sugar in my coffee so I got half sweet and it was perfect. Jamaican beef patty exceeded expectations...never knew they could taste that good.
