Loved seeing Mary poppins last week. Very professionally done! Costumes are beautiful. Just one thing ......please, please, please turn the air conditioner on. Most people were fanning themselves with the play books the whole time. Would have been much more enjoyable if the temperature was below 90 degrees.

Business response:

Hi Missy, thank you for your honest review. We are aware of the situation with the air conditioning and have already requested for the service company to come to look at the unit that services the main auditorium. Unfortunately, they were not able to get out here before last night's performance. We did try our best by using the smaller auxiliary units through the building. Hopefully this a/c unit will be repaired as soon as possible.

We had the pleasure of visiting the HCVP today for the first time, but it certainly won't be our last. We saw Mary Poppins: The Broadway Musical, which we first saw a few years ago when it was on tour. The theater itself is beautiful, but the true heart of the playhouse definitely resides in the fantastic team of people who brought the production to life. From the Cast and crew to the orchestra and everyone else involved, the amount of commitment and invested time was evident. I found it amazing to learn that all of the perf... read more

My wife and I went for the first time last night for Aida. The theatre is gorgeous, and the production was top notch. Great performances by the cast and the live orchestrated music was spot on. This feels more like regional theatre but retains the friendliness of community theatre. Bravo!!

Business response:

Thank you, Jack. Your gracious review is much appreciated. We are so happy to be able to serve our wonderful community.

This is a fabulous place! Just saw Aida last night and the performances were outstanding! Broadway voices and acting with professional set designs and incredible costumes! A true value as you will not see a professional production better than this, and for only $25!!!! WOW!!! If you have not been for a while, or never been to see a show you are missing a real treasure! Next 2 weeks is Aida and then comes Mary Poppins, I cannot wait!!!!! Bravo to the cast and crew of Aida, you are all superstars!

Business response:

Thank you, Dee Dee for the wonderful comments. We appreciate you so much!

The Playhouse is a very beautiful, historic theater, built in 1924. The atmosphere is very warm, the décor charming, and the largely volunteer staff (possibly all volunteer, not sure) are friendly and helpful. The shows are all produced and performed by volunteers and the quality of shows is excellent, including the live orchestra. Ticket prices are quite reasonable and the view is good from any seat in the house, downstairs or in the balcony. I highly recommend it, I've never yet been disappointed.

Business response:

Thank you, Rita for the wonderful review. All of our performers and ushers are volunteers but we have combination of paid and volunteer production team members, but we can never pay them what they are truly worth. Your support and positive words are greatly appreciated.
