We were in Cedar Rapids last week so my wife could do some research on her family genealogy and had the great fortune of dining at Cobble Hill. It also happened to be our 40th wedding anniversary. We decided on the Tasting Menu and every course was fantastic. The wine pairings were exquisite and the complexity, as well as nuance of each course was exceptional. Presentation was good however the food was horrible. Duck was extremely gamey tasting. Pork belly was not good either. Server was extremely nice and very knowledgeable though. Seating is very close and it was crowded making it hard to hold conversation. Not to mention it was $284 for two people.

We were visiting and staying overnight in Cedar Rapids and we're looking for a nice place to eat dinner with friends. We always try to find new places to try. My favorite place to eat. There really isn’t much that compares to Cobble Hill. It’s a vibe you’d expect in an upscale New York neighborhood, but it’s in Cedar Rapids. The flat iron steak is always exceptional. If you want a cocktail, the French Oak Old Fashioned is THE best I’ve ever had.
