I've seen it first hand in their plant tours, that they offer to anyone. From the meticulous hands-on manufacturing process, in-house across all stages, and Cobalt's unwavering commitment to do this in a way that surpasses the competitors, it's pretty incredible. If you own a Cobalt, know that it was put together with care and pride. I know it was!
I bought my first Cobalt 6 years ago a 2001 226, absolutely loved it! Sold it 2 months ago and moved on to a 2016 R5. I can't wait to get it out on Powell. I'll never own anything but a Cobalt!

I have a beautiful 26 SD with under 80 hours on it. The hull is completely craking apart from de-lamination. Very sad and Cobalt will not warranty it!!
My three year old Cobalt 200 has failing fasteners that hold the swim platform onto the boat. I've sent photos of these dissolving bolts to Cobalt and they say that fasteners are only covered for two years. They are sending me new bolts, but are not contributing at all to the repair or labor. I just don't think a boat builder of Cobalt's reputation is wise to abandon their owners when their product fails.
Safety and reliability are my reasons for recommending a Cobalt boat.
