While planning our trip to San Diego, I searched for the best Monte Cristo sandwich. ★☆☆☆☆ We ordered two sandwiches from Cloud 9 Deli on July 22 for $33.38. I specifically asked that the bread be toasted. By the time I picked up the order and got home, the bread on both sandwiches was completely soggy and practically falling apart. These are not cheap sandwiches—roughly $16–$17 each—and the portions were also nowhere near what I expected based on how they were described. First off, the customer service was absolutely amazing. I was kind of waiting a long time for my egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, and I think the manager or maybe one of the owners was just so cool and was like explain to me why I was taking long and was very apologetic and ended up, giving me an extra potato salad and a slice of their cake as thank you.
