I wanted to tell you how your referral to Dr. Shmidt has actually prevented a major stroke. Before I saw you I had a Carotid ultrasound that was normal. It took Dr. Shmidt asome time and a lot of time but he found the cause of my loss of vision....left retinal artery occlusion...the lower artery was a ghost artery. He insisted my cardiologist do another ultrasound...70 percent blocked four months after normal. Left only. To confirm a pre-op for an angiogram put me in ER later with hemoglobin count of only 5.
