He listens to my questions and answers them until I completely understand. He is never in a hurry and takes his time with you. He is very passionate about treatment.
Dr. Cauthen is one of those rare doctors who takes the time to listen and think about what the root cause of a condition may be, rather than rushing through an exam and pushing prescriptions. He is personable, doesn’t rush appointments, and has a fantastic staff. My husband’s health has improved. Wish more doctors were like him.

Dr. Cauthen is an extraordinarily knowledgeable and skillful practitioner. Even so, he is never condescending and listens carefully to my comments and observations. Dr. Cauthen does not over treat. Although he is very thorough, he always opts for the least invasive treatment for the most likely condition consistent with the symptoms. Sometimes it is as simple as exercise more or drink more water. I trust Dr. Cauthen completely.
Clay began being my cardiologist when I was in the hospital. He has been nothing but caring, attentive, kind, and friendly. He is so extremely competent. I cannot begin to say how many good things there are about him.

about 5-6 years ago I met Clay because 3 other Cardiologists could not figure out why I had a problem. I was in my early 40's then and very active in cycling and triathlons. When he first met me we talked for an hour. I mean WE talked. I have never had a doctor that listened like he was and just kept asking more and more questions. Dr. Cauthen and all medical team and staff are excellent. They are very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and accessible. He is very positive with great bedside presence. True lifesavers.
Excellent Dr. Always kind, patient and friendly. Seems like an old friend. He cares about his patients and you can tell. Never rushes you. I would recommend him to anyone.
