We recently purchased a brand new 2022 Honda Civic EX-L from this dealership. Now, keep in mind that my family had bought two new vehicles from them over the span of 10 years. The 2022 would be our third, and with good credit we would NOT even need to put a down payment, but this is where my complaints is about. I purchased a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited on 7/2/2022. I went in with my own approved financing and $13500 cash down. 5 weeks later i come to find out that Clawson never submitted my auto loan and that I had to go back in and sign new contracts. My interest rate went up and 10 days later I received a letter stating clawson was canceling the contract and I had to surrender my car. I just bought a car here recently and everything was okay. The paperwork, everything went well, smoothly (or so I thought). To be honest, I wasn't expecting much at all due to stories I've heard, but it was the salesperson who claim they would fill in the gas tank, clean it, detail the car, etc. In the end, when I was halfway home, we realize no gas was filled in at all. Honestly, I wanted to love Honda simply for the engine for life warranty they provide on all their cars. That alone made me feel that they really do thoroughly inspect their vehicles and that they will be reliable for years to come. As I previously stated, within the first 30 days of buying my vehicle I had some issues with it, the great thing (and probably the ONLY good thing) is one of their service advisors Alex, was very helpful and able to get me in ASAP for an inspection. I scheduled a few days ahead to check out a car, but when the day came they were not able to locate the car. Their story was that one of the owner took the car home. I ended up test driving something else since I was already there, but I couldn't believe how unprofessional Clawson Honda was. Skip to present day, I called Clawson Honda about the same car and they still don't know where the car is.
I purchased a new 2016 Honda Civic from this dealer in June 2016. I have prior experience buying one other car from this dealer. From the beginning, the 2016 Civic had issues. The lcd screen would change on its on or turn off on its on and only display the Honda logo. The car would beep loudly and the volume controls would freeze. The only way to stop the beeping was to pull over and turn off the vehicle. I would receive tire pressure warnings, electrical system failure and brake system failure messages on the lcd screen. I bought a Jeep from Honda. Since day one it’s been having problems. Motor blew up on us on highway going 65 miles. After months in the shop for a blown motor “twice” and Honda giving us the run around We decided to let the car go after we ended up near a ditch after the car died going 65 miles off the ramp. The car died and I had to try to steer the car without power. I couldn’t so I landed in the ditch. We finally gave up on the Jeep. Unsure who wrote this response. The relationship to the buyer is unclear. This customer purchased a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Limited Edition, 4 door, 4x4, on 06/17/17. This SUV had 67,269 miles at time of purchase. On 04/20/18, we sent vehicle to Clovis Chrysler for various mechanical issues. Customer had purchased an extended service agreement at the time of purchase through First Automotive. On 05/30/2018, an engine was ordered. Beware and stay away from this dealer. They will not honor advertised price and lie to your face that the vehicle is sold while it is still available. I was going to pay cash, and their response was that vehicle had to be financed thru them to extract more money from buyer. Something you would never expect from reputable dealer.

Clawson Honda’s store policy forbids it’s employees from receiving security deposits on previously owned vehicles. The sale of these vehicles is on a first come basis. This was the worst experience I've ever had with a dealership. If you're looking for helpful, courteous, transparent and/or honest business practices, Clawson Honda of Fresno is the complete opposite of that. They make initial promises that make you want to give them your money, but then renege on what they've promised. I was all set to buy a Honda Pilot.
