Reasonable price. Great place
This Clarion is in an excellent location for Carowinds, delivers a great value, and has a wonderfully friendly staff. The rooms are always clean, check in is a breeze, and there is lots of stuff nearby.
When we got in our room it was extremely hot. It’s the south and it had been turned off so I figured it’d cool off. A few hours later it was still hot enough to not be able to sleep. If you put your hand in front of the vent it was blowing cold, but it was barely running and almost silent and kept turning off even though the room was warm. The hallways are even hotter, but it’s just the hallway so not a big deal. I have epilepsy and getting overheated isn’t safe for me. I had a very brief stay at the Clarion after checking out of Howard Johnson’s (3:15 AM) and then needing somewhere else to stay. The Front Desk lady was very nice. The room was very clean; bed and pillows were comfortable. Neighborhood was safe and parking was well lit with plenty of room. I would have given this 5 stars, but the hotel couldn’t give me a late checkout because I’m not a Choice Rewards member, and then at 9:40 AM housekeeping or possibly guests were knocking on on my door.
