On a Tuesday I woke up and half of my right eye was black. I was here in Indianapolis from another state for a year. I thought it might just go away. Wednesday and Thursday it got worse. On Friday I went to see an ophthalmologist. They said I had a detached Retina and it needed immediate attention. They were able to get me in to see Doctor Ciulla that afternoon. Dr. Cuilla has performed surgery on both of my husband’s eyes and on one of mine. Eye surgery is scary. In each situation we found him reassuring and wonderfully professional. We are extremely pleased with our results. We highly recommend him.
I was very anxious about the vitrectomy I needed for my left eye. I found Dr. Cuilla and and staff to be very reassuring and caring. Everything went very well and I see better than I ever have after this surgery! An unexpected bonus for me is that it has also corrected double vision in my right eye! I had a floater in my right eye which seriously affected my daily activities. Driving and reading were a definite challenge. My eye doctor, Dr. William Lentz, referred me to Dr. Ciulla and said he was the best. I am happy to report he was right on! I am now floater free and ecstatic! Particularly, I’m back to driving and reading with confidence. Thank you, Dr. Ciulla, for making the entire experience and end result amazing!
Both Dr. Ciulla and his nurse are easy to work with and do an excellent job! My optometrist told me I was lucky to get Dr. Ciulla as my surgeon, as his is one of the best eye surgeons in the country. He and his team have certainly done a great job for me. His nurse is also a joy to work with and does a great job of communicating the details of after surgery care and answering any questions you may have. I really enjoy working with them both.
My floaters were so bad it was affecting my vision. I googled best vitreoligist in Indiana and Dr Cuilla came up..they weren't wrong. He explained everything about the procedure and made sure all my questions were answered. The facility was spotlessly clean and the nurses were wonderful. I had both eyes done and my results are more than amazing. I will definitely recommend Dr. Cuilla to my friends and family. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.
I am 71 years old and have had floaters in my eyes my whole life. I was always told there was nothing that could be done with them. I had two separate cataract surgeries, one on each eye, someplace other than Midwest Eye Institute. Two days after my second eye surgery, the retina in my left eye detached, and the retina in my right eye started to detach.
