My daughter is a City Year volunteer in Boston and is being grievously mistreated by her roommates who are also City Year volunteers. Management has been made aware of this situation and does absolutely nothing about it. As far as I can tell, City Year is a fraudulent operation which pays less than the minimum wage and does nothing to help foster good relations among its members.

I am very disturbed about the actions of the director Ms. Johnson. To fire a teenage volunteer for his beliefs that all persons should be treated equally is very honestly, UnAmerican and has no place in our country.
If you work here and you're white, be prepared to do penance for the circumstance of your birth.
This organisation requires unconscious bias training for its white employees and fires them if they refuse to follow it. It believes and practices that all white people are inherently racist and evil. As a result they need unconscious bias training as a first step towards atonement for their race's sins. It is a racist organisation and needs to be defunded.
I'm calling for the immediate resignation of Jennie Johnson of the Providence, RI chapter of City Year. What she allowed to happen to Mr. Tompkins is abhorrently racist. Young men and women were actually put in the basement for the color of their skin? Who made you the moral arbiter of society?
