Their idea of service learning is indoctrination. If you got Christian values, they're going to oppose you every step of the way. When they go abroad for service learning trips, your you time doesn't really belong to you. They don't permit you to go where you want and trust you to return on time. I wouldn't recommend them.

I am a January mid year and I love it! The experience so far has been absolutely amazing. I serve at Dalton RSL and my students are wonderful and I love them! #ilovecityyear
Hello, I am currently serving in City Year Seattle King County. City Year has been an amazing opportunity, and I wish I had known about it sooner. My only wish is to connect with another City Year member from another city. I'm really interested in learning about the other City Year programs.
I have learned many things in the 3 years I have served as an AmeriCorps member with City Year. Most importantly I have learned that we can all be part of the change that needs to happen in our public education system. Like anything else in life, there were some challenges but I made sure that I had people to support me, both at work and in my personal life. I would not be the person I am today without all the experiences that I had while serving in San José, Boston and while I traveled the U.S. with Care Force. 💞
