Best food in the area (and an even better bar) – I'm a regular at several bars in the area and typically choose City Tavern over the others nearby. The lobster ravioli is a personal fav and the seared ahi tuna is ridiculously good. Bartenders are friendly and the owner is often around to make sure things are going alright. Countless times he has been nice enough to order a round or two for our table. This is mu favorite local spot
Terrible Customer Service – I totally agree with the last comment. I have never had worse customer service than at City Tavern in Rivergate. They clearly are not concerned about the customer, nor about retaining business. There are too many other great restaurants in Charlotte to waste time here.
Amazing atmosphere!!! – I've eaten at City Tavern Rivergate several times, and cannot compliment the owner or the chef enough. The customer service is exemplary, food choices are incredible, and the ambiance absolutely delightful. Kudos to the chef, the wait staff, and the owner. You'll be seeing a lot of me!!!
Unprofessional – If you are looking for a restauraunt with great hospitality and customer focused service, it is NOT here!!! The owner/ manager at the Rivergate location does not care about retaining repeat customers, nor does he understand the meaning of hospitality. The management is completely unprofessional. If you are in the mood to be insulted and treated poorly after a stressful day at work, then head on over and enjoy!!
