What the heck is wrong with this place??? – I tried to go for lunch a few weeks ago and was forced to stand in a smoky room while waitresses ignored me. I finally flagged one and was told that I'd have to wait awhile. The nonsmoking section had TONS of booths open, but I was told that they weren't going to seat one person in them. Not such a great burger – My Mother and I went to the City Grille during one of my visits to Denver. The burger at the City Grille was dry. The bun was very doughy. For 9.25 this should have been the best burger in the world, but it was wat not!!!!
Terrible service - never went back – I haven't been to this place in over a year primarily due to many of the same reasons already stated in other posts. Those of you who rated this place high must not be so familiar with Denver's other great restaurants or you lucked out. Either way, I visited CityGrille with several friends and for an average burger and drink it cost me a pretty penny and the service was no good. Love those BUCK "BABY" Burgers! – The new fresh look at CityGrille deserves a comment. Nice job on the new paint and patio! Just had to send a message to all looking for the tastiest, best bargain after 10pm. Was there late last night and had two baby burgers for $1.00 each. Same meat and buns as the Best Burger in Denver...and the price rocks!! Check it out and see - I believe they serve until midnight.
Disappointing – Heard all the hype about the burgers and had to try them out. The food was good but did not meet the ratings. Serivce and ambience weak at best. This is one of those "been there done that" places. Denver can do way better than this place.
Disappointing Reduction in Quality – This restaurant, even a year or so ago, was great for its specialties -- the burgers, fries, nightly specials, wings etc, with semi-decent service. Seems like a TON of turnover on staff and as such the service is very so-so (you feel like you are imposing upon the server by requesting utensils, napkins, water etc). Great Food – The CityGrille certain deserves high praise for their food. However, they could use some assistance with the friendliness and courtesy of their staff.
Best Burger I've had in a while – Went on a Tuesday evening. Food was excellent and service was good even with the crowd. Nice atmosphere, the only downfall can be parking if it's a busy night. Good value, as we got more than we could eat in one sitting, should have ordered one and split it.
Great burger – The best burger in town. You can order it with a VERY nice side salad (real lettuce - not iceberg - and lots of veggies) instead of fries if you want, although the fries are good, too. The service has always been a bit lacking here, though. But, it's worth dealing with the slow waitresses to get to the burger at the other end of the tunnel.
