Our experience with City Granite was horrific. The initial phases were fine -- choosing the stone, leaving a deposit, contract terms -- but their ineptitude and lack of professionalism became evident as soon as they attempted to install the product. They arrived for the first installation attempt late with damaged stone. The second attempt was no better. Not only was the stone cut incorrectly but they also damaged our living room floor when they dropped a slab. The third attempt was a repeat of the first two. The stone was damaged and the sink and cooktop cut-outs were done incorrectly. After the third failed attempt, City Granite decided they were going to quit and not try again. Throughout the process, they were unwilling to admit fault for any of their mistakes. According to them, traffic was bad, the stone was a poor choice, their $200,000 water jet machine made a mistake, the sink manufacturer provided the wrong dimensions for the cutout, etc. In reality, however, they were simply unable to deliver. They did return our deposit but that certainly did not compensate us for our time. The owner of the company repeatedly said that he has been in the business for 20 years. I find that hard to believe given their extraordinarily poor craftsmanship and service. I would not recommend this company to anybody. They may be willing to settle for mediocrity or worse but I am not.
