City Abstract served as my title company when I purchased my first home in Philadelphia in May 2022. The home was a new build. City Abstract failed to disclose this home had open permits and no certificate of occupancy. As of today, Dec 2024 I am being sued by the city of Philadelphia for living in my home with no certificate of occupancy. I have had to spend more than $25,000 in permits and legal fees + facing $20,000+ in legal fines from the city. I go to trail in court in January for this.
