I have no idea how this office has such high reviews. The doctor’s and assistant care is good, but the office communication is really bad. There is virtually *no* way to get in contact with the office or medical assistants via their communication channels. They rarely pick up the phone or respond to your voicemails, they never respond to your messages in the patient portal, and the front desk assistant “doesn’t work in the office” and thus can’t connect you directly to a person. Sad to say, but over the past couple of years trying to communicate with Citrus Valley Internal Medicine has become a real chore. It seems like I spend a week or more leaving messages to get a prescription filled each month and no one returns my calls. If my customer service was run like this, I'd lose my job.
Ayla Szmurlo saw me today for a routine physical. I've had very unpleseant expriences with previous doctors, and I went in really worried about how it would go. She was super nice, patient, and made me feel comfortable.
Thank you so much for taking care of me this morning, August,9-th 2024. Dr.Tom Ku gave me quality time,patiently listened to my questions and concerns . Brittany was also helpful with all the information regarding my tests and referrals.
Care here was very good in the past, since COVID, there is clearly a decline in services. There is a disconnect between the doctor and the back office. Orders for care not received at the appointment are not followed up with and messages are not answered, or better yet, only partially answered which causes additional delays in care. I like my doctor, but the nurse that he is assigned should look into another career option, because she does not understand what the "care" in healthcare means. Time to find a new provider.
