YUMMY, YUMMY, YUMMY – What a great treat! My girfriend and I went for dinner last night and had such a wonderful meal. I had heard about Ciao Vito but had no idea what a great find it is. I had the razor clams with a fabulous mixed salad and she had the crispy duck with creamy polenta. Ever bite brought smiles and yum, yum noises. The service was excellent, the chef even came out to say hello. I have already told several friends and can't wait to go back. Purely, simply wonderful.

Yay! Fabulous experience – I am happy to report that I left a bad review for this restaurant in September soley because of the bad service, but I took my parents there two weeks ago and it was fabulous! Our server was very attentive without being over-solicitous. He was polite and engaging. I think the food is always fabulous. We had the calamari which is always good. We each had a different dish and raved about it. I think their steak is to die for, but I chose a chicken dish special and was very happy with it. I think thei... read more

Small, dark and delicious. – Crowded, noisy and popular enough that even with a reservation you might have to wait almost an hour. This has happened to me twice with a party of four and a reservation made well in advance during the winter season. Still, the servers are some of the best around and the food is satisfying in every way. Delicious, fresh, robust flavor. I haven't tried the marinara that other reviewers have been unhappy with but I had a plate of steak frites that was day-dream worthy. That table by the bathroom i... read more

skip the pasta – My dinner companion had the pork, which they enjoyed. However, I ordered the marinara. Folks, just go to the Olive Garden if yu're going to order this - better yet, just open a can of Chef Boyardee - it will taste the same and save you $14. Very bland and NOT worth the price. I will not be going back. The wait staff was fine..... I just can't get over the meal.

Exceptional rustic Italian cuisine in the up-and-coming Alberta neighborhood. – In Short Once a greasy-spoon diner, this spot has been completely reincarnated as a chic neighborhood trattoria. Patrons pass the gleaming open kitchen and settle in at the airy bar, or head to the subdued dining room, lined with comfy banquettes and chocolate-colored wainscoting. Chef Vito Dilullo puts forth rustic Italian food using market-fresh, local ingredients. Entrees include pasta carbonara with house-made pancetta, as well as the mixed s... read more

Just okay – I love the loud open kitchen ambience. Very nice over the phone taking reservations. Very attentive staff. The food however was just okay. I had the crepellini- italian crepe with wild mushrooms and asparagus. I didn't taste any mushrooms- and it was very dry- no trace of the bechamel sauce promised. Perhaps it was overcooked- it steamed all through the meal. The steaks looked good- the Halibut with olive tapenade looked really good- but the broccoli side was infused with an olive flavor as well. The razor clams ... read more

DOUBLE check your reservation. – I called to confirm a reservation for four of us an hour prior. They had no record of it and weren't able to suggest any other alternatives. The reservation was made one week prior with all the usual names, phone numbers, etc.

Not what I expected, but pretty darn good – I was a little disappointed in the lack of pasta dishes on the menu. The spaghetti with marinara was not much better than I could make at home, but the nightly special (filet mignon with mashed potatoes) was great! The selection of wine was almost overwhelming (in a good way), but the server was very informative and offered a suggestion, their house red wine, which was excellent. The shades on the windows did not block the setting sun, which made conversation across the table awkwa... read more
