Possibly the best bar I have ever been to. They take such good care of their customers and are just fun to be around.

beer... and crowds – Churchkey in Logan Circle is bar whose opening I looked forward to as if it were Christmas, like Meridian Pint a few blocks north. Largely it has delivered on its promises; I just wish I could afford to go more often. It's best on an offnight. Otherwise, if you can get to the bar, there is a smorgasbord at your fingertips. The bartenders here are really conversational and will let you try things before you buy a full pint. If you like to taste new things, you'll love Churchkey. They have a great selectio... read more

mmmmm. Beer – The biggest problem with Churchkey is that other people in this city know about it. The beer choices are amazing, and even on a really crowded night (which is most) the bartenders will take the time to help you find a beer that you will like. The smaller size tasting options for all the beers means that you can try more, which is a great option. The changing beer list is also a plus, as every time you stop by there is something new to try. I definitely recommend stopping by if you are a beer lover.

Beer joint that has it all – Churchkey's draft beer selection is fantastic with about 40 different beers on tap. There is also a book thicker than War and Peace filled with the most unique bottle selections around. The atmosphere is pretty vibrant, and it gets crowded, so come early to grab a seat at the bar and you won't be disappointed. The bar is beautifully crafted, the seats lush and comfortable, and the staff super chill. The flat bread pizzas hold their own and the fries and gravy are ridiculous! There are also tv's f... read more

Great Beer, Good Service, Decent Food, Hip Crowd – As I waited for the rest of my party to arrive, I admired the coolness of this lowlit space, and hoped on this busy evening that the building had been built up to code. I imagined the whole place collapsing under the stress of the huge crowd, and would I end up under one or two of those kegs dangling above my head? People seemed to be pouring in and not pouring out. It was a sophisticated, employed crowd of darned good looking people, and I hadn't even had one drink yet! Gan... read more

Best Beer Bar – This is my new favorite spot to grab some quality beer in the District. Popular with the both trendsetters and the after-work crowd, Churchkey has a huge selection of great beers, even for a beer novice like me. The bartenders are knowledgeable and attentive and will work with your preferences to get you a beer you will love. The atmosphere is great too, and manages to be both industrial and comfortable. Definitely a dude-heavy hangout - Churchkey is also a great place to meet new people!

Citysearch Editorial Review – Churchkey--the upstairs bar associated with restaurant Birch & Barley--turns the act of beer drinking into a fine art. It specializes in rare beers and microbrews--no Bud Light here--and houses 50 drafts at all times, 25 of which rotate each week. Three keg rooms extend above the bar and are kept at 42, 48 and 54 degrees; all 500 bottled options are housed there according to optimal temperature and are served in one of 15 different glasses to best accentuate flavor. Every aspect of the decor was... read more
