He was very thorough with his exam and in fact I inquired if i could use him as my PCP but he was not accepting new patients for family practice but focussing on endocrinology.Sadly, I found out today that he is no longer with the Woodland clinic

I've never seen this doctor in person. I have only talked to him twice on the phone due to covid. Today I expressed to Dr. Lau the financial strain I was feeling due to the thyroid tests he had ordered for me that I must complete in order to continue to receive my thyroid medication. Dr. Lau said to me, "If you don't have the test, I will no longer be your doctor." And then he hung up the phone on me. If you think this is an appropriate way to treat a cancer patient, then by all means go see this doctor.
I have been a patient of Dr. Lau for many years. I find him very knowledgeable and value his expertise, in fact, I have moved out of state and still return to keep my appointments with him.
I had Dr. Lau as my doctor over twenty years ago. I moved away so had to find another doctor. Never did I find anyone has knowledgeable about my diabetes as him. He was always right about everything he talked about. I may not have liked what he had to say, but this Dr. told me what I needed to hear to become a healthier person. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR if you are having issues with your diabetes. Peggyk
I would like to suggest that Dr. Lau exhibit some friendliness. He was cold and not personable. I felt like I was treated as a medical specimen instead of as a human being. I asked a last-minute question as he was leaving and he seemed annoyed as he quickly glanced over his shoulder, barely answered the question, while not stopping to see if I understood. He is obviously competent as demonstrated by his record, but needs to improve his "bedside manner," if you will.
