Misdiagnosed twice by the same doctor, then treated like a threat — correctly diagnosed by the VA the same day. I came to this ER at 6am with painful swelling behind my ear. I was misdiagnosed, prescribed Augmentin, and sent home. No CT scan was ordered. Over the next 24 hours the swelling doubled in size and spread, and I woke at 3am with my eyes matted shut with discharge.
