Spent less than 3 mins with me. Refuses to help me because I don’t fit his best scenario mold. Office refusing to release my records to a Doctor Who is willing to help me at a dif hospital...
I had a complete knee replacement and Dr. Uggen did an excellent job. If I need the other knee replaced, I will definitely go back to him.
Did not explain my options. Mumbled something so I couldn't understand him when he had his back to me - on purpose. He said that when I was in enough pain to call for surgery. No explanation as to my condition or options. Physical therapy? He said I should take Ibuprofen every day. Not good for the liver. He prescribed a medication that I was allergic to. I didn't realize it until I had the prescription filled. He did not explain that it might be OK because it was topical and not oral.
From first visit 3 yrs. ago until my visit earlier this week Dr. Uggen has been great. He goes over X-rays, provides complete information, answers questions, encourages phone contact if scripts are needed. I had my shoulder replaced 1 yr, age with excellent results and if the other shoulder needs replacement he definitely will be my choice as a surgeon. I have recommended him to others and will continue to do so.
I had right knee replacement Feb. 13, 2017 and left knee replacement on March 19, 2018.
I would recommend Dr. Uggen to anyone needing joint repair.
I have had both shoulders done in the last two years , Dr Uggen did an excellent job. I had no pain, and a quick recovery. Most important his bed side manner was out standing. as was his staff. their attention to every detail was the best I have seen. I have shoulder worked to shoulder with doctors for over 50 years.
Dr. Uggen performed ulnar nerve decompression on my left elbow in October 2017. My outpatient surgery went very well and post care was excellent. I highly and truly recommend this fine surgeon with his soft spoken approach which eased my fears that created a calming effect from my initial visit through post care. Thank you, Dr. Uggen for setting me on my journey to full recovery with the ability to regain use of my manual dexterity that has plagued me for years pre surgery.
I would warn people against Dr Uggen! 1st if all, I brought in an MRI but he insisted I have x-rays on site. It extremely painful & too long! Looking at them he said, the MRIs are better than x-ray. INS scam? He told me I needed surgery, but he wouldn't do surgery because of my weight, I'm "too fat to fit on surgical tables in Kalamazoo. So, nothing I can do." He said he could refer me UofM, if "I wanted." UofM told me Uggen should have sent me to have a procedure in Kz... Waste of time/$/pain!!
