Dr. Smale is pretty old school, and isn't one for small talk, but he is a great doctor. You never feel pushed out of the office like with some doctors, and he is always willing to answer your questions and address your concerns. He delivered my 3rd child via cesarean, and it went smoothly and was my easiest recovery thus far.
Dr Smale is absolutely wonderful and saved my life! After years of fertility tx he found that I have endometrial cancer. I had a radical hysterectomy and celebrate 3 years of being cancer free today! I was struggling to pay my medical bills, so this awesome Dr donated his time. I was 33 and scared to death, but he walked me through it. I did get 2 other opinions. 1 wanted me to try and fight it first do I could resume fertility tx. No thank you! I wasn't going to dump more money on that.
Went to Dr S. as new patient - showed ultrasound report I'd rec'd from another dr regarding a cyst on L ovary. Dr.S. scheduled a f/u ultrasound. A few days prior to appt, Dr S. called & said there was no reason for 2nd ultrasound; we should just take out ovary. He called back 30 mins later; said we should take out both ovaries to be sure. When I asked about instant menopause, he said You'll be going through it soon anyway. Saw another dr for 2nd opinion - cysts were gone! Don't trust Dr. S!
