Dr. Chalian had been recommended by the PT at Pomona Valley Hospital as a doctor who was great because he wouldn't do a procedure if it weren't needed. This was high praise for him, which at the time made no sense to me being naive that a doctor might actually care more about the money than doing right by the patient. PT didnt make the knee better (the PT in retrospect had no knowledge about what works and what doesn't in building up the VMO muscule in knee patients).
