My daughter is happy after 2 yrs of excruciating pain in her shoulder.He is the best .
I don't like him. He has a god complex. I much more prefer to see his residents who usually nicer. Maybe it's just because I go to the hand clinic at Toronto Western also and they are the exact opposite of Dr. Veillette. My doctor is the hand clinic is so caring and always asks how the rest of my body is holding up ( I have a rare genetic condition).
Dr Veillette fixed my broken collarbone 6 years ago after a bad accident. 6 weeks later I was good as new. Saw him today in Fracture clinic for unrelated shoulder pain. He was his usual self, direct, clear, action oriented and tongue in cheek. I don’t need someone asking me how I felt about unrelated issues, I want supreme competence. If you want your shoulder/elbow problems resolved, see him !
Christian is the man. Yes he's quite direct and may seem rude if you're very sensitive but he's amazing in my opinion. One of the most competent surgeons in Canada. He worked on my elbow after a severe gymnastics injury. I was better post surgery and was able to train, came back better than ever actually. For elbow injuries, Christian is the best.
If all you need is a surgical technician, this doctor is adequate and competent. However, do not expect any degree of interest in ongoing care or recovery. At a one year follow up of a shoulder arthroplasty, there was zero interest in how I was feeling/recovering, no helpful information given to contribute to recovery and rehab going forward. Worse still, a concern that I raised was responded to in a rude, flippant manner. If I need care for this issue going forward, I will be seeking a different surgeon.
