A resident's opinion – I have lived at Robin Run for a year and a half. I just love it. The people are so very friendly, but you have to be friendly yourself to get the most from it. The food is very good, the variety splendid, and balance wonderful. There are ALWAYS fresh fruits and salads, a choice of seven or eight entrees every meal. Upon reading the other reviews, several people are very misinformed. Our rates go up no bigger percentage than any other retirement continuing care community. Last year was less than 5%. Wit... read more

Warm and bright – My grandparents moved to Vickery Towers two months ago - a big switch from living independently. The wonderful staff has made the transition for them go smoothly. The apartments are nice and bright and the dining hall is lovely, and I've heard the food is good. I would live there!

Unprofessional – I was to come in for a second group lunch interview. The morning of (an hour before the interview) a staff member called me and told me the main supervisor called in sick. Fine. These things happen, not a big deal. They stated that someone would call me back asap to let me know if I still needed to come in. No one called until a few hours had passed. I received a phone call from another staff member who said they'll just let the supervisor deal with it on the next work day. Ok. fine. No call. Called the next... read more

Addendum to previous review – In fairness to CRV I wanted to amend the poor review I gave CRV a few months ago. The main culprit of the communication issues is no longer employed at CRV, and even though my parents no longer live there I have heard through a couple of the caregivers that they are very impressed with the person who replaced him. So hopefully the situation is better now because other than the problems I had with poor communication from administration, CRV is a nice place.

Administration noncommunicative – My parents have lived in CRV assisted living for almost 2 years and I am currently in the process of finding them a different place to move. The "care coordinator" of the assisted living residents does not answer emails or return phone calls, and totally ignores family members. I have been trying for over 2 months to schedule an appointment for my parents care planning (case conference) which was due 3 months ago, and our emails and phone calls to both the administrator and the care coordina... read more

Robin Run continues to deteriorate – Not much has changed since my first review three years ago. This is written on 6 Jan 2011. Staff turnover at both the salary and hourly level is extreme. They have a decent ceo,but he seems constrained in spending money on much needed capital improvements. The biggest issue continues to be the number of units on the market. Now, unit prices are 50-70 percent of what they once were. Some would like to move out but can't afford taking the loss on their homes. As appliances and heating units... read more

Bad non compassionate management – Non refundable "membership fee", burned and undercooked food, poor service in cafeteria, Sunday night Baloney sandwiches. Charging for 2 weeks nursing care after resident leaves, senior bus broken down half the time, I have seen many assisted care places, this one is mismanaged and I would not recommend it with the current management.

A great Place to live – Robin Run has been wonderful to me while I have lived here. I had some surgery and some long recovery time. The facility was a great help. My Garden Home is very nice and well cared for. Maintenance has very responsive to all my requests (replacing my water heater within 12 hours). Fixing the garbage disposal within hours, replacing bulbs within hours. Generally very responsive. A recent change in the staffing has increased the response time and effectiveness. The transportation department has been ve... read more

Decline in service – New management and the loss of loved and key staff people have resulted in a less desirable place to live. Corporate management is not responsive to resident requests or wishes. It is becoming a ?cookie cutter? environment rather than one focused on the unique nature of the Robin Run residents, their history or their desires. On a positive note, there are many activities and interests to become involved in. No one is really paying attention to my mother or her needs. I no longer feel comfortable that sta... read more
