Great Environment – Although the entrance wasn't overtly obvious, when you walk into Chiso the environment grabs you. The service was good and the menu was decent. The variety of sushi available was good and the freshness of their seafood is recommended. Typically I like to sit at the sushi bar, but it was full the entire time I was there. The wait staff was very prompt when asking for chef recommendations and was very helpful when asking about the history of the restaurant. Overall I thought the menu was overpriced for what... read more
Wonderful – Chiso is my favorite place for sushi. Taichi is incredibly talented and the fish is extremely fresh. There are alot of vegetarian options as well. The restaurant itself is inimate and I enjoy both the sushi bar and the table seating. The lychee martinis and green tea ice cream are also delicious! Fabulous, attentive service and delicious food keep me coming back.
Excellent Sushi, Excellent Atmosphere, Excellent Service – My boyfriend and I experienced the wonderful atmosphere and deliciously fresh food at Chiso just last night. We were looking for a place to share a special dinner before going out of town for a month, and we agreed this restaurant was exactly what we were looking for. I'm a little picky when it comes to certain kinds of sushi but I ordered the chef's choice and loved everything that came with the order.
Sushi done right in my neighborhood – I'm tired of trendy sushi bars, where the cocktails are more important than the raw fish. So I really wanted a sushi bar in my neighbhorhood where the food was the focus. I think Chiso is that place. The waitstaff are not children (sorry Rain - you're good otherwise), the sushi chef was a super dude, and the fish tasted superb. Bring more money than you would bring to say, Blue C, but I guarantee you'll enjoy it!
Good sushi - good atmosphere – I guess my expectations were too high. The atmosphere is excellent, service was really good. I thought the sushi was okay, but I really think Ohana's was better.
Grab some quality sushi and sake – Get a cup of hatsumago and enjoy quality sushi at a small and stylish corner of Fremont. Before coming here, I was a conveyor-belt-sushi fanatic, but the quality really stands out at Chiso. The hatsumago cant be missed; it is the perfect touch to any sushi on the menu. There is small capacity for seating, so arrive early. The ETA for orders can get quite long, so order plenty for the 1st round. The waitresses have always been friendly and knowledgeable of the menu, during my experiences. Th... read more
The best kept secret in seattle – This place is amazing, we eat here at least 3 times a month and it's still the absolute best sushi you can get anywhere. We've dined in all sorts of fancy and traditional sushi restaurants around the world and this one is still the best by far.
Best sushi around – We originally went to Chiso because we heard raves about their ankimo (monkfish liver pate), and wound up discovering the best sushi place in Seattle was right in our backyard. Excellent sushi and the best unagi I've ever had are just the beginning. The ambience is wonderful and the specials are inventive and unusual - things like amber jack (very hard to find at sushi restaurants around here), and a great sake selection. Parking is a bit of a pain, but it's well worth it.
FRESHNESS!!! – I love this sushi place! It is always live and kicking, literally...even the food! Very delicious, a little pricey but worth every penny!
