We had all 3 of our dogs as regular patients at VCA Chiquita for over 2 yrs. Each dog was on preventive heartworm medication, all 3 are young, happy healthy dogs. We tried to get their RX for heartworm medication renewed however this VET would not renew the RX without seeing the dogs, claiming they were due for their one yr check up. I explained that money was tight at the moment and we could afford to have all 3 dogs seen BEFORE their heartworm medication expired and I didnt want them to miss a dose, could they just call... read more

Caring, compassionate, competent Dr. Hollenbeck is very compassionate, professional, and competent. She cared for our dog for many years, and I really can't say enough good things about her. We didn't let anyone else treat our dog.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would!! All this place cares about is money, not your pets. The staff is SO rude also. We were told the manager was off, then told she was coming in later. When I arrived to speak to her, she was very snippy and nasty. VERY unprofessional. Ever since this place was taken over by new ownership they have completely changed in a negative way. I have taken my pup here for 5 years and just recently had many issues with them. If you need to address any issue, they will blame it on the new o... read more

Despite my bad circumstances, I had a great experience here. I came in as a walk-in with my dog who had gotten into a fight with one of my other dogs. Front desk was VERY friendly and caring, and the vet came to talk to me throughout the process (my dog ended up needing sedation to clean her wounds). They also let me know how much it would all cost before going ahead with the procedures. And they trimmed her nails while she was sedated which she desperately needed. Definitely recommend them! Amazing staff! Thank you!

I used to love this place, but since the were bought out by VCA it’s like a switch flipped and patients are no longer a priority. Ended up changing vets after being with them for decades.

Chiquita animal hospital refused my friend service when it was an emergency. Think about that from your perspective. Your pet is in need of emergency service and you get refused at the only place you could receive service because the people (who got trained to perform this exact thing) decide they don’t want to do anything the last 45 minutes of their little shift. Now imagine a hospital doing that with your Human family member. Sounds pretty inhumane, right? Don’t worry, I’ll pray for your salvation.

DO NOT GO TO Chiquita Animal Hospital!!!! I brought my foster puppy in there and they told me to go somewhere else because they close in 45 minutes when my foster puppy could have a possible obstruction so I had to drive 40 minutes away and get my doctor and surgical tech I work for on the phone to rush over to the hospital and meet me instead of the closes vet taking her in! My puppy was DEHYDRATED and refused to give me Sub Q fluids which only takes 5-10 minutes. Also REFUSED a parvo test and REFUSED a blood test. After dr... read more
