At 2 A.M. how can you go wrong with tasty "chinese' food at a good price????? – I just happen to live nearby, and being a night owl means that I try to find decent places to satiate that late night food craving. Fast food just doesn't do it for me, so finding a nearby chinese place is like stumbling onto a treasure chest. The food is decent, I know I've already used that word three times, but its the truth. Great food at a great price..but the bar is kinda scary – This restaurant has some of the best Chinese food in Portland. Everytime I go here, I don't order from the "family dinner" specials. Generally, that food is greasy and tasteless and very Americanized (caters to white people taste). Instead, I highly recommend ordering from the family style dinners. Less than stellar – I visited here on the recommendation of a friend. Perhaps we made an unfortunate menu decision, but we had egg rolls which were very very greasy and may have contained Cream Of Mushroom soup, and some other very very greasy dishes, except for the Subgum Chow Mein, which was not exceptional, but not really flavorful either. It tasted like an artistic interpretation of chinese food by someone who had never actually eaten any. However, the value was good, we got a lot of greasy food for our dollars.

Ack! – While the service wasn't bad, and there's actually something to be said for the 1970's-type Chinese decor, this was the worst Chinese food I've had in the United States. One or two dishes were just OK, but honestly, others were not reasonably edible. None of it was very Chinese -- almost like someone who had seen pictures of (but never tasted) Chinese food was doing the cooking.

Don't waste your time – Your typical Chinese restaurant in appearance, but the food does not rate well. While prices are comperable to other similar family-style places, and the portions are fairly large, the quality leaves a lot to be desired. Heavy on fried foods, which may not be obvious from the menu. I definitely advise against the duck, which was shredded and took on the look and feel of a tuna fish sandwich. A reason I'd like to move to China. – I those AYCE Chinese buffets were more like this, I'd eat at them every day. This food is fantastic, prepared the way Chinese is supposed to be, and on top of that, it's not all that expensive, except for the BBQ pork (this is pricey in all Chinese restaurants; I have yet to understand why), and the seating is fabulous, with tons of private booths, along with a bar for cocktails before dinner.
