The doctors are fine, but their unethical and dishonest billing practices are not!!! They will recommend/order tests without any conversation in advance about costs or insurance coverage, and even if the test is not medically necessary (as was the case for us), they will make you feel like it’s required for your child’s care. And then…surprise! You’ll get a bill for hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars when your insurance doesn’t cover the full cost, and no amount of disputing the bill will matter. As a pediatrician and a residency graduate of Children's National, I am keenly aware of the importance of bedside manner and compassion. When I say they put your mind at ease i truly mean it. I was so nervous and scared to bring my 10 week old son in for heart surgery. Dr. Jonas explained everything to us he was so detailed he even drew us a picture of exactly what he was going to do. It helped us understand a lot better. After surgery we were put into the CICU for recovery our nurses were phenomenal so attentive to both us as parents and our child they care for your child as if they'er their own.
