This past week I had my second very bad experience with Children's ER. My son got a cut on his leg, the provider spent 20 seconds cleaning it before she stitched it and he ended up with a raging infection. He was very nervous about the stitches and I suspect she was annoyed with him and just wanted to be done. I stressed several times that he cut it in standing water and we weren't sure what had cut it. His Children's pediatrician is wonderful and took care of it, but I won't be returning to the ER.
RecommendedWe went for my 14 month old son's surgery on an inguinal hernia and to get his circumcision revised... Not a fun night or morning but we were very well taken care of. It was busy so we had to wait a bit but they were so accommodating! They had a little car I could push him around in, a great play room, lots to keep a anxious mom busy while she waits on surgery... For my 2nd and my 3rd child children's has been there for my kids and even me. They really took care of them and went over everything to get them healthy. I never worry that something's being missed or short cutted. Without this hospital my kids would not be as healthy as they are now!
Brought my son into the ER tonight for an X-ray after a choking scare. We were there for just short of 3 hours. Took 30 minutes to get triaged in, then back out to the waiting room for an hour, then finally put us in a room. They were quick to take him back to do an X-ray, but then an hour and a half later, still no word on his X-ray. My 11 yr old son spent 3 days in the hospital in pain, spending hours at a time in level 10, or as he said "off the scale". He was allowed no more than ibuprofen during the 10 pain, and one Dr (Flamingo) said it was to assess his condition after 3 hrs of 10 pain. She suggested distraction, ie counting or deep breaths. Wouldn't go anywhere else! Our preemie infant had a double hernia surgery and the staff is amazing!
The staff is is always so friendly and they go above and beyond for the children and their families!
