is a first class pre-school and kindergarten alternative. My oldest is 15 and my youngest is 4. I now have had 4 children in the Montessori School program, all with Mrs. Harp. I too have a had a child who did not "fit in" with his behavior and who had to be worked with everyday to learn to control himself and not to hurt others. Not once did Mrs. Harp suggest medication or dismissing him from the program. She had this child for 4 years. I must say it is because of her efforts and patience that my child is who he is today. The Best Thing That Happened To Our Children Our children have attended The Children's Garden since 2006. One of our children is currently attending the school and the older two attended through Kindergarten. Our experience at The Children's Garden has been extremely positive. Mrs. Harp and her assistants provide a caring environment where the children are able to learn at their own pace. Our children have a solid Montessori foundation to build upon and have transitioned easily into public school.
Fabulous School & Faculty! Having been in the military my children have been in four different schools in their short lifetime. They have been at the Garden since 2006. My eldest graduated from there last year and is now in the KEY program in the city here. My eldest cried for a long time as graduation came up and still loves to go back and visit on her days off. Best of all of them I have been to all of the Montessori schools in Kokomo and hands down, Children's Garden is the best. Best colors and atmosphere; Best teachers; Best playground; kids are happy and polite and learn everything! All the sinks, tables (and they are numerous) are sized for the children. My child has attended here for two years. I cannot tell you how many comments I have gotten from strangers about how kind she is to other kids and how polite to strangers! Simply a gift from God! Where do I even start...This school has been a blessing from God for our 3 year old. When we started my son had been in a regular daycare setting and was not good at expressing himself in a proper way. He was not well behaved. The perfect Pre-school Environment I am a special education teacher, so I have a lot of knowledge when it comes to picking out a pre-school. A blessing for my daughter Having the experience of my niece in the Montessori school many years ago made it an easy addition of places my wife and I discussed we would like our daughter to possibly attend preschool. Great Teachers All the teachers at this school are great. When my son first started, he was very shy and would not talk to anyone he is not familiar. He cried for 2 weeks when arrived at school. The teachers are very caring and helped him adjust. He is starting to open up and has now made many new friends. I would definitely recommend anyone for this montessori school.
