The founders of Chico’s Mexican Restaurants, Juan Martinez and Bill Alston, searched from Virginia to Florida to find the perfect locations for their restaurants. They opened their first in downtown Greenville, NC in 1983 on Cotanche Street, just across the street from the ECU campus. Great Mexican food, hungry college students, and fun times. Fantástico! Best Salsa ever! – I haven't been to the Chico's Rocky Mount in a while but eating there the other day reminded me how good their salsa is. It's the best i have ever had! If you want some amazing chips and salsa, go to Chico's!
Non-Authentic Mexican on the Tar River – Waitstaff aren't very helpful for the most part or concerned with doing their jobs--or that's the experience I've had the last couple of times. The food is alright--definitely Americanized Mexican food. I love the location, but that's about all that I would rave about. For a much better value, try El Tapatio or San Jose.
one of the first mexican restaurants in area – Don't go anymore, now that RMT has real authentic mexican restaurants. The food has decreased in value and quality. Not so good anymore. Would rather go where they speak spanish, it just seems right.
